I'm an old assembler and C programmer self taught in the object oriented languages and Web design. Upon graduating from Murray State University in 1983 I Started doing embedded systems for the automotive industry, got a wild hair and moved to Florida in 1986 and did some work on DEC PDP and MicroVax computers. I got out of the programming field in 1995 for personal reasons and didn't return until a few years ago and have just about caught up with all that I missed, or at least all I care to know.

The last year has been devoted to a passion I have had for electronics and embedded programming. About a year ago I started programming the AVR micro controller and continue to learn and pass on what I learn to others in the hope that my mistakes won't be there's.

I recently retired and have returned to the great outdoors; camping, hiking, backpacking, biking and kayaking to stay in shape and because I love doing these things. I have joined a great group, the North Florida Trail Blazers and am joining them in clearing a section of the Florida Trail. This is a very rewarding function and I would encourage anyone that loves hiking and/or backpacking to join this or other groups that help maintain the Florida Trail.
